The first ND game, it came out in 2000, and was the first of its kind. It has also been Remastered to be much better, both graphically and via its story line.
Secrets Can Kill takes place in Florida, where a high schooler named Jake was pushed down a flight of stairs and murdered. Nancy goes to 'live' with her aunt in Florida while she poses as a high school student to try to find out who killed Jake and why.
As far as ND games go, it was not my favorite, but it's still remarkably good, especially for its genre. As in every Nancy Drew game, you're faced with a handful of suspects, such as the good girl and studious student Connie Watson, who is very quiet but who has far too many secrets. Then you meet popular guy and student council president Daryl Gray, the guy everybody likes and nobody dares to question. Then Hal, the quiet Asian exchange student, and 'The Hulk' a stuck-up, arrogant jock who apparently enjoys flirting with Nancy.
Between sneaking into the teacher's lounge and snooping in the back of Maxine's diner, there's no end to the secrets the students harbor, and just how far they'll go to keep them.
